DISCOVER THE DORDOGNE

Our beautiful region holds a number of treasures to be discovered. Small acclaimed villages such as Brantome "La Venise du Périgord", St Jean de Cole and Aubetterre are a must see. In addition, there are numerous chateaux and caves reminiscent of the historical and cultural landscape. The richness of our region can also be discovered via its network of walking, cycling paths and rivers, perfect for those seeking a more active holiday.

HERITAGE

Our region the Dordogne hosts much more than just a river. It has landscapes you will find no where else in France. Endless fields and vineyards that cover miles of green land make for a trully beautiful drive out and  why not stop and have a taste. Further more, it is renowned for a wealth of Chateaux and caves not least the world famous Lascaux caves. The sheer density of these monuments mean that weather it be a cave or a castle it is only a stones throw away.

VILLAGES

Camping L'étang bleu is situated on the border between the Dodorgne  and Charente, today called Nouvelle Aquitaine. This means we are 45 mins from Périgueux, capital of the Drodogne and Angouleme, capitol of the Charente. Both being fabulous historical towns to visit, they each have a charm of their own. Nonetheless smaller towns and villages in our region are definitely worth a look : Brantôme, Bourdeille, St Jean de Cole, Nontron, Aubertaire to name a few. Each with their bustling markets and great restaurants.

GASTRONOMIE

Of course if you are coming to France food is always a priority. Not only does the on site restaurant serve a delicious meal but we are surrounded by a long history of french gastronomie. Regional specialities such as duck, wildbor, foie gras, truffles, cheese and walnuts are delisious when accompanied with a glass of local wine. Being foodies ourselves we will be happy to point you in the right direction.

ACTIVITIES

No rest for the wicked...

It would be hard to tell you every thing you could get up to in just one paragraph. Your days can be spent visiting but if you are looking for something more active look no further. There is a gym and swimming pool on site as well as footpaths for cycling and walking leaving directly from the campsite. The rivers crossing our region are perfect if you fancy a day out canoeing or other nautical activities. We have a national go karting track just around the corner and during the summer period we organise races for the clients. However if speed isn't you thing then you can take it slow and go fishing on our private lake. The landscape also allows days out rock climbing, horses riding or even a game of golf on our regions beautiful courses.
